Professor Jie Yang is a Distinguished Professor at RMIT University whose research covers advanced structures, metamaterials, solid mechanics, and nanocomposite materials. His work is relevant to ICAN 2027 through the modelling and analysis of high-performance composite and multifunctional structures under complex loading conditions in multi-physics fields. He has published 420 journal papers with more than 33800 citations and h-index 100. He is currently the Lead Editor-in-Chief of Engineering Structures which is a flagship journal in civil engineering and applied mechanics disciplines. His research aligns with ICAN 2027 themes in composite materials, structural mechanics and engineering applications of advanced (nano)composites.
