Professor Zhong Zhang is a Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China with expertise in polymer nanocomposites, nanomechanics and multifunctional composite materials. His research is highly relevant to ICAN 2027 through its focus on the structure–property relationships, interface engineering and mechanical behaviour of advanced polymer-based nanocomposites. He has made significant contributions to the design of multifunctional nanocomposites, interfacial mechanics of low-dimensional materials, and lightweight structural materials with integrated mechanical and functional performance. His work supports the key themes of ICAN 2027 in polymer composites, nanocomposites, multifunctional materials, structural materials and the translation of fundamental materials science into engineering applications.
