Professor Emeritus , Jung-il Song
Changwon National University
Director, Center for Advanced Materials Research (CAMR)
Distinguished Keynote Speaker, ICAN 2027
Professor Jung-il Song received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from POSTECH and served as a Professor at Changwon National University (1998–2023). He currently serves as Professor Emeritus and Director of the Center for Advanced Materials Research (CAMR). His career includes research positions at RIST and the University of Memphis.
With expertise in advanced composite materials, green composites, metal matrix systems, and polymer-based multifunctional materials, his research focuses on sustainable composite design, interface engineering, structural reliability, and structure–property relationships. He has contributed significantly to natural fiber-reinforced composites, hybrid structures, and eco-friendly polymer systems with enhanced mechanical, thermal, and functional performance.
Professor Song has served as President of the Korean Society for Composite Materials and represents Korea in international networks including ACCM and FEOFS. His work directly aligns with the core themes of ICAN 2027 in polymer composites, sustainable materials, advanced manufacturing, and the translation of materials design into engineering applications.
